Pattern Play Bedroom | South Boston, MA

This small secondary bedroom of my client's Southie townhome was aching for an extra boost of coziness and personality, especially for when these young clients’ had overnight guests. In an effort to help personalize an otherwise neutral room, we helped to transform this small space into a warm and inviting suite that would please even the pickiest of family or friends. Mercurio focused on adding moments of interest and personality by way of layering a lot of varied textures, patterns (such as graphic stripes, checkered waffle weaves, and mixed-scale prints). An upholstered bed with integrated storage underneath was flanked with laser-cut illuminated sconces perfect for bedside reading. A small console and stool was placed in an adjacent corner to give guests a bonus space to park their laptop. Dark plums, warm oatmeal, organic linens and camel-colored boucle come together to tell a rich color story. The result is a guest bedroom that feels fresh and young, while still remaining sophisticated and calm.

Completed Fall 2025.
