Nordic-Vintage Bedroom | South Boston, MA

Mercurio helped to transform this large primary bedroom into a cozy and calming space with pinch of vintage flair. This room had great sunlight and lots of fresh air, but the previous layout wasn’t taking full advantage of these elements and felt a little too cold. We focused on adding moments of funky vintage-inspired stripes, washed linens, and warm mushroom-y velvets. The room was color-drenched in a warm taupe paint - SW 9173 Shiitake - on ceiling and walls. Pops of jewel-tones like plum, ochre and olive in the small accents and bedding come together to tell a rich color story that makes a subtle vintage nod to vintage textiles. The furniture, by contrast, was kept minimal and craftmanship-focused; A light oak bedframe paired with dark oak night tables and two classic chrome Herman Miller lamps keeps the bedroom feeling modern yet timeless. We paired natural grain hardwoods with a new oversized rug and performance-velvet sofa. The result is a primary bedroom that feels quietly masculine, while still remaining a sophisticated and peaceful place to catch up on rest.
