This single-family new-construction townhouse came to my clients as a blank slate. The family was looking to add color and personality to an otherwise modern white box. Inspired by graphic Bauhaus elements and organic shapes, we started pulling together a palette that felt energizing and bold, while remaining warm and comfortable. The ground-floor living, dining, kitchen and powder room spaces were the first to get attention. The open-plan double-height space gets really amazing sunlight, so we washed the walls and ceiling in a warm milky shoji-screen white. We added rust-toned floor-to-ceiling mesh sheers that helped created a little extra drama in the double-height space. Lots of live plants are scattered throughout, as are vibrant punchy accent colors, soft dimmable light fixtures and an eclectic mix of furniture created a super fun living room.
